We collect as little personal data as possible. We have no user accounts and take no payments. Analytics cookies load only if you accept them.

This privacy policy explains how GoTrippio (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit http://localhost:3000 (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

GoTrippio is an independent travel information website based in San Angelo, Texas, USA. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@gotrippio.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Contact form: your name, email address and message. We use these only to reply to you.
Newsletter (when launched): your email address, only if you choose to subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Information collected automatically

Server logs: our hosting provider may log IP addresses, browser type, pages requested and timestamps for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time.
Analytics: if enabled and, where needed, if you consent, we collect aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, referring sites, device type and approximate country.

We don't have user accounts. We don't collect payment details or booking information.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

Essential cookies — for example currency (remembers BDT/USD) and cookie_consent (remembers your cookie choice). These don't track you.
Analytics cookies (optional) — if we use Google Analytics 4, it sets cookies such as _ga. These load only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If we use Plausible Analytics, no cookies are set and no personal data is collected.

You can change your choice by clearing cookies for this Site in your browser. The banner will then appear again. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.

4. Third-party links and booking sites

The Site links to third-party booking sites, including Agoda, Booking.com and Expedia. Some of these are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one, you leave our Site. The booking site may set its own cookies, including affiliate tracking cookies that record the referral so we can be credited for a booking. Any information you give a booking site is covered by its own privacy policy, not ours. Please read their policies before booking.

5. How we use information

To run, maintain and improve the Site and its content.
To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
To understand, in aggregate, which guides are useful.
To protect the Site against spam, abuse and security threats.
To meet legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal information.

6. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests (running and securing the Site, answering enquiries), consent (optional analytics cookies, newsletter) and legal obligation where relevant.

7. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the Site, such as hosting, email delivery and analytics. They may process it only on our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

8. Data retention

Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and for up to 24 months after that. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. Server logs are deleted on a rolling basis.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@gotrippio.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We use HTTPS and reasonable technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.

11. Children

The Site is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
