Grand Sultan Tea Resort & Golf

Grand Sultan Tea Resort & Golf is a large resort on the Bhanugach road just outside Sreemangal, the town at the heart of Bangladesh's tea country in Moulvibazar district. It opened around the end of 2013, was billed at launch as Bangladesh's first five-star resort, and markets itself as the best five-star resort in the Sylhet region. Its roughly 134 rooms and suites look out over gardens, lakes and the surrounding tea-covered hills, and all are air-conditioned with private bathrooms.

The grounds are the main draw for families and groups from Dhaka. Facilities include several outdoor pools, a spa with sauna and steam room, a gym, a tennis court, a 9-hole golf course, a small cinema, restaurants and large conference space. The resort sits a short drive from Lawachara National Park and Sreemangal's tea estates, and Sreemangal railway station is the most convenient arrival point by train. Rates are at the upper end for the region, and weekends and winter holidays tend to book up early.
