Kaya Great Northern Hotel

Kaya Great Northern Hotel, formerly the Great Northern Hotel, stands beside King's Cross station and calls itself London's original railway hotel, having welcomed guests since 1854. The Grade II listed building was designed by Lewis Cubitt, who also designed King's Cross station, and it reopened in 2013 after a £40 million renovation. It took its current name in September 2025 after Kaya Hotels & Resorts bought it. The hotel has 88 rooms in four categories: compact Couchette rooms, Edwardian rooms under the eaves, Heritage rooms overlooking the station, and Victorian rooms, some with a standalone bath. Every room has air-conditioning, Hypnos beds, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a Nespresso machine.

RAILS Restaurant & Little Bar serves dinner and cocktails, and the GNH Bar and Terrace offers coffee, light meals and evening drinks. There are also rooms for meetings and private events, and the front desk is open 24 hours. The British Library is a short walk away, and the shops and restaurants of Coal Drops Yard are just north of the station. King's Cross St Pancras Underground station is on the doorstep, and Eurostar trains to Paris leave from St Pancras International next door.
