Traditional Homes Swotha

Traditional Homes Swotha is a small boutique guesthouse in a restored Newari townhouse on Swotha Square, in the old centre of Patan (Lalitpur) and a couple of minutes' walk from Patan Durbar Square and Mangal Bazar. The building has only nine rooms, spread over several floors in the traditional Newari layout. Rooms are decorated with local furnishings and have en-suite bathrooms, and most have a private balcony or terrace over the rooftops. As in many old houses, some ceilings are low and the stairs are narrow.

Cafe Swotha on the ground floor serves Nepali and international food with an emphasis on organic ingredients, and the rooftop terrace looks across the valley towards the Himalayas on clear days. The Patan Museum, the Golden Temple and the craft workshops of the old town are all close by on foot.
